Oetiker clamps are for clamping rubber oil hoses because they maintain clamping force through heat cycles better than worm-drive hose clamps.
Worm-drive hose clamps don't expand as the hose assembly heats up and, therefore, force the hose material to extrude away from the clamp area during a heat cycle. After just a few heat cycles, worm drive clamps can loosen or deform the hose, reducing clamping force. Retightening the clamps eventually wears the tightening position contact area.
Oetiker clamps can expand and contract with heat cycles. The connection is non-adjustable and maintenance-free. Ideal for hose fitting that are not required to be removed for service.
